Today and tomorrow in Moscow, consultations will be held among representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of CSTO member states on the establishment of a unified system for technical protection of railways in CSTO member states.
The Belarusian Railway has delegated the Chief of Technical Services, Androsov Igor Viktorovich.

Regarding the consultation topics: judging by the fact that the Central Directorate of Military Communications of the Russian Federation (VOSO) is being invited, it can be assumed that discussions will concern the coordination of troop redeployment on a larger scale than previously and through faster “procedures,” since currently the Belarusian Railway faces certain challenges, one of which is the development of train diagrams for troop trains.
Regarding the joint exercises “Zapad 2021” conducted in August-September, we recall that the number of military personnel from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation involved was significantly understated: according to official figures, their number was 2,500 personnel, but if we look at the total number of passenger cars in troop trains, which equals 100, and the capacity of one passenger car is 54 seats, plus guards in boxcars (railcars equipped for transporting people), the number of military personnel amounts to at least 5,400 people. And this does not include special service trains, which were also used to transport military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces to the Republic of Belarus. According to information from operations staff at Minsk-Sorting Station and Orsha-Central: upon arrival of troop trains in the Republic of Belarus, all passenger cars were fully occupied.
